The Ahrefs team analyzed 900,000 newly created web pages in April 2025 and found that 74.2% of them had AI-generated content in them. In other words, only about 1 in 4 new pages on the internet is written entirely by a human.

Similarly, GPTZero partnered with Graphite and found that 50% of the articles available online are AI-generated.

Graph showing that 50% of the articles available online are AI generated and 50% of them are human written.

That's a lot of AI content being produced and published online. And where there's AI writing, there are people trying to make sure no one can tell that the text is AI-written.

They do that using AI humanizers. These tools take AI-generated text and rewrite it in a way that's supposed to bypass AI detectors.

Grubby AI is one such tool. It names advanced AI detectors and claims that it can bypass them.

I decided to put those promises to the test. I ran an AI-written text sample through Grubby AI and then put the humanized output through all the AI detectors it claims to bypass.

Read through this article to see the full results of my testing.

What is Grubby AI?

Grubby AI is a platform that offers multiple AI-powered tools for writing and studying.

Most people know it because of its AI humanizer. But it also offers tools such as an AI summarizer and notes generator.

Its study tools include a quiz maker and a flashcard maker, both AI-powered.

All these tools are Grubby AI’s secondary focus. Its main product is the AI humanizer because when you land on the Grubby AI website, the homepage is all about AI detection removal.

The platform states that it can rewrite your AI-written text to score 99%+ human scores on most advanced AI detectors.

And it doesn’t stop there. It specifies the AI detectors that it can help bypass. All those AI detectors are quite famous, while some are actually highly accurate at catching AI-written text.

Those AI detectors include:

  1. GPTZero
  2. Originality AI
  3. ZeroGPT
  4. Turnitin
  5. Winston AI
  6. Content at Scale (doesn’t exist anymore)
  7. Copyleaks

Grubby AI seems serious when it makes these claims because soon after signing up, it asks you to specify the AI detector you aim to bypass with Grubby AI.

Grubby AI’s options of AI detectors to bypass.

Luckily, both Grubby AI’s humanizer and the listed AI detectors (excluding Turnitin) are available for use. You can easily humanize text with Grubby AI and scan it with these AI detectors to verify the platform’s bold claim.

And that’s what I have done next in this Grubby AI review.

I tested Grubby AI like I have tested other AI humanizers in the past, such as StealthWrite AI and TinyWow AI.

You first generate a piece of text using ChatGPT, Claude, or any other AI text generator. Scan the AI-generated text with an AI detector and note down the AI score. It’s better if the AI score is 100% to test how much the AI humanizer manages to reduce it.

Since I am testing Grubby AI, I scanned the original AI-generated text with all the AI detectors it claims to bypass.

Having scanned the AI text, you then humanize the text using Grubby AI. Then you run the humanized text through the same AI detectors that Grubby AI lists. The AI score of the humanized text should have dropped significantly compared to the AI score of the original AI text. Only then can you say Grubby AI can humanize text and beat popular AI detectors.

Grubby itself claims to achieve 99%+ human scores. But even if the human score crosses 50-60%, that’ll be a commendable thing for Grubby AI.

The good thing about this test will be that you’ll also indirectly learn which of these AI detectors are actually advanced and which can be easily bypassed.

So let’s start the test.

The screenshot below shows the AI text that I generated using ChatGPT. I asked ChatGPT to keep the sample within 300 words because Grubby AI allows beginners on a free plan to humanize 300 words only.

ChatGPT-generated text.

Here’s how Grubby AI humanized the AI text. Notice that I had "GPTZero" selected as the AI detector to bypass.

Grubby AI’s humanized version of the AI-generated text.

GPTZero

In its marketing copy, Grubby AI lists GPTZero before other AI detectors when it claims to bypass them.

So let’s test the tools in the same order that Grubby AI lists them. I will also show the AI detection result of both the original AI text and the humanized version generated by Grubby.

GPTZero correctly detected the AI text (text generated using ChatGPT) as 100% AI.

GPTZero correctly flagged the ChatGPT-generated text as 100% AI-written.

Next, I scanned the humanized version of the ChatGPT text (given by Grubby AI) using GPTZero. The entire text was labeled as 100% AI by GPTZero.

So Grubby’s first claim that it can bypass GPTZero has been proven wrong.

GPTZero correctly flagged the Grubby AI humanized text as 100% AI and Grubby AI could not manage to bypass GPTZero.

Verdict: Grubby AI can’t bypass GPTZero.

Originality.ai

Next in Grubby AI’s list is Originality AI.

Originality AI flagged the original AI text as 100% AI.

Originality AI correctly flagged the ChatGPT-generated text as 100% AI-written.

The AI score remained the same for the humanized version that Grubby generated.

Originality AI accurately detected the entire text as AI-written.

So that’s another AI detector that Grubby AI fails to beat.

Grubby AI could not manage to bypass Originality.ai.

Verdict: Grubby AI can’t bypass Originality AI.

ZeroGPT

ZeroGPT flags 100% of the original AI text as AI-generated.

ZeroGPT correctly flagged the ChatGPT-generated text as 100% AI-written.

However, ZeroGPT fails to detect any AI in the humanized version.

It declares the humanized version as human-written and gives it an 18.3% AI score only.

So while Grubby AI has bypassed ZeroGPT here, that doesn’t mean the text is actually human. All this proves is that ZeroGPT is a weak AI detector.

Grubby AI managed to bypass ZeroGPT as ZeroGPT showed that 81.7% of the text is human-written and only 18.3% of the text is AI-written.

Verdict: Grubby AI can bypass ZeroGPT.

Winston AI

Winston AI shows the human score in its verdict.

For the original AI text, its verdict was 0% human. In other words, 100% of the text is AI, which is correct.

Winston AI correctly flagged the ChatGPT-generated text as 100% AI-written.

Just like GPTZero and Originality AI, Winston AI’s verdict for the humanized version was the same. It detected 0% human in the entire text. In other words, Winston AI flags the entire Grubby AI’s humanized text as AI-generated.

Grubby AI could not manage to bypass Winston AI.

Verdict: Grubby AI can’t bypass Winston AI.

Copyleaks

Copyleaks also made accurate calls.

It gave the original AI sample a 100% AI score.

Copyleaks correctly flagged the ChatGPT-generated text as 100% AI-written.

The humanized version was also called 100% AI.

That’s yet another AI detector that Grubby AI claims to bypass but fails to do so when you put it to the test.

Grubby AI could not manage to bypass Copyleaks.

Verdict: Grubby AI can’t bypass Copyleaks.

QuillBot

Since the Content at Scale AI detector is no longer available, I’ll test Grubby AI’s humanized text on QuillBot.

QuillBot flags 100% of the original AI text as AI, which is an accurate call.

QuillBot correctly flagged the ChatGPT-generated text as 100% AI-written.

However, it completely fails against Grubby AI humanizer.

QuillBot’s verdict for the humanized text was “100% human-written.”

That’s another win for Grubby AI after ZeroGPT, but only because these are poor AI detectors. ZeroGPT at least detected 18.3% AI in the humanized text. But QuillBot couldn’t detect any AI-text at all. That’s a huge question mark on QuillBot’s effectiveness when it comes to its AI detector.

Grubby AI managed to bypass QuillBot with 100% accuracy.

Verdict: Grubby AI can bypass QuillBot.

Summary of The Results

Out of the seven AI detectors Grubby AI claims to bypass, I tested it against six AI detectors. I didn’t test it on Turnitin’s AI detector since Turnitin’s AI detector is not available for individual purchase. You need an institutional plan of Turnitin to access its AI detector and plagiarism checker.

Another AI detector that Grubby AI claims to bypass is “Content at Scale.” This AI detector seems to have closed. I couldn’t test Grubby AI’s humanized text on the “Content at Scale” AI detector because it doesn’t exist anymore.

That said, Grubby AI failed to bypass the majority of the AI detectors that I tested it against.

It could only bypass QuillBot and ZeroGPT.

Here’s a table showing how Grubby AI performed against each of the six AI detectors in my testing.

Accurately Catch Humanized AI Text With GPTZero

The takeaway from this Grubby AI review is that it’s an unreliable tool to use for bypassing AI detectors. It can only bypass basic AI detectors. All advanced AI detectors like GPTZero can still catch it accurately.

GPTZero accurately flagged the humanized output in the test, the same way it flagged the original AI text.

The reason why Grubby AI and other AI humanizers fail against GPTZero is simple.

GPTZero has been trained against a wide range of paraphrasing and bypassing techniques, which is precisely why humanizers struggle to get past it.

It has also topped independent benchmarks multiple times. On the massive RAID benchmark, which tested 672,000 texts across 11 domains and 12 LLMs, it ranked as the most accurate commercial AI detector in North America.

FAQs

Which AI can bypass AI detectors?

There are a couple of basic AI detectors like ZeroGPT and QuillBot that you can manage to bypass even with AI heavy text or humanized version of AI text. However, you can not bypass highly accurate AI detectors like GPTZero no matter which tool you use to humanize your AI draft. GPTZero has been trained against a wide range of paraphrasing and bypassing techniques, which is precisely why humanizers struggle to get past it.

How accurate is Grubby AI?

Although Grubby AI claims that it can rewrite your AI-written text to score 99%+ human scores on most advanced AI detectors, it’s not true. My testing showed that Grubby AI is not accurate as it failed to bypass four major AI detectors including GPTZero, Originality.ai, Winston AI, and Copyleaks. It did manage to bypass QuillBot and ZeroGPT, but their AI detectors are not quite accurate.

Can AI detectors be bypassed?

AI detectors can be easily bypassed if you write the text yourself instead of outsourcing the writing part to AI. You can also bypass some detectors if you edit the AI generated draft yourself and add a human touch to it. But most of the time, advanced AI detectors like GPTZero can easily detect whether the text was AI, human or a mix of both.
